  • PAPERWORK NEEDED FOR MORTGAGE APPLICATION

    When getting a home loan, you will have to complete a loan application AND back up the information on the application with supporting documentation.

    All applicants need to provide the lender:

    • Photo ID
    • Last 30-days of pay stubs
    • W2's - last two years
    • Checking and savings accounts statements for the past two months (all pages - real statements, not printouts)
    • Most recent statements for other assets such as bonds, stocks, or  401k
    • W-2 withholding forms for past two-years

    Purchase loans

    • Real Estate Agent contact information
    • Sales contract for the purchase of a new home (purchase agreement)
    • Homeowner's association information with contact information if property is a condo or part of a homeowner's association
    • Proof of homeowners insurance (Get Insurance)

    Refinance loans

    • Current mortgage loan most recent statement
    • Proof of home owners insurance. Declaration page of policy preferred, but at least name and contact information for your agent. if you just have an 1-800 number, then your policy number also

    Common Other Documents

    • Certified copy of divorce papers
    • Proof of foreclosure date (Sheriff Certificate of Sale)
    • Certificate of Eligibility (VA home loans)
    • Past two-years Federal Tax Returns if self-employed, work on commission or tips, or own investment property
